On the island of Crete, Ancient Greek Sandals begins with a gesture passed through generations: cutting, shaping and braiding leather by hand. Founded by Christina Martini and Nikolas Minoglou, the brand reconnects contemporary design with the ancient craft traditions of Greece.
The story draws from Greek mythology, where Hermes, messenger of the gods, was gifted winged sandals created by a master artisan. This spirit of movement and transformation remains at the heart of each pair, shaped by craftsmen using traditional techniques including hand-cut leather, embossing, braiding, cut-outs, beading and the signature golden wing buckle.
Made from natural leather selected for its texture and character, each sandal changes with time. The surface softens, the grain deepens, and every step leaves a trace of the journeys it accompanies.
From the workshops of Crete to everyday paths around the world, Ancient Greek Sandals carries a piece of Mediterranean craftsmanship — sandals created to travel, to settle into a wardrobe, and to become part of the stories written while wearing them.
